National Assembly Considers Viet Nam’s First Artificial Intelligence Law with Stronger Governance and Penalties up to VND 2 Billion

On the morning of November 21, the draft Law on Artificial Intelligence was officially presented to the National Assembly. This marks an important milestone in the development of Viet Nam’s legal framework for emerging technologies. It is the first time a dedicated law on AI has been submitted for review. The draft reflects the State’s commitment to ensuring safety, transparency and accountability in the deployment of AI systems.
