In recent years, AI has become an inevitable trend in enterprise digital transformation. According to a study published by Amazon Web Services (AWS), 18% of businesses in Vietnam have implemented AI, equivalent to nearly 170,000 companies, marking a 39% increase compared to the same period last year. In 2024 alone, about 47,000 businesses began applying AI, with an average of 5 new businesses joining this trend every hour.

Despite the rapid increase in AI adoption in Vietnam, most businesses are still using it for basic tasks such as optimizing operations and streamlining processes (74%). Only 17% have reached an intermediate level, and just 9% consider AI a core element of their products and business models. Nevertheless, the efficiency is evident: 61% of businesses using AI reported an average revenue increase of 16%, and 58% expect to save up to 20% in costs. There is also a clear difference between startups and large enterprises, as 55% of startups have implemented AI and 35% of those use it for new product development, while the figures for large enterprises are only 41% and 11%, respectively.
The most significant challenge currently is the shortage of skilled AI personnel. 55% of businesses report difficulty in recruitment, and only 24% are confident in their team's capabilities. Many companies are willing to increase salaries by up to 40% to attract talent. Additionally, compliance costs are also a burden, currently accounting for about 18% of the budget, and 71% of businesses predict these costs will continue to rise over the next three years.
AI in Vietnam is in a rapid growth phase but is still primarily at a basic level. Vietnamese technology companies and CyberTech are promoting the use of AI in digital transformation solutions and are committed to making AI technology more accessible and easier to adopt in Vietnam
